Eugene Kinlow for U.S. Senator
"I am committed and ambitious in my mission to transform the dream of D.C. statehood into a resounding reality for 700,000+ residents of the District of Columbia."
- Kinlow
The People Demand Representation
Why am I Running?
The residents of Washington D.C. demand statehood because it's unfair that we lack voting representation in Congress despite paying taxes and serving in the military. Statehood gives us a voice and ensures we have equal rights and representation.
For D.C. Statehood
Statehood is the pathway to full representation for the residents of the District. By becoming the 51st state, we ensure that every voice in our nation's capital is heard and every citizen has the same rights as those in other states, from voting in Congress to shaping our country's future.
Our
Livelihood
Granting statehood to DC offers residents a pathway to self-determination, enabling us to shape policies that directly impact our livelihoods and quality of life. Through local governance, we can cultivate thriving economies and vibrant communities, ensuring prosperity.

No Representation
Residents of Washington, D.C. lack voting representation in Congress, depriving them of a voice in national decision-making. Statehood would grant D.C. full representation, allowing residents to elect senators and representatives who advocate for their interests in federal matters.
Local Governance
Congressional oversight often hinders D.C.'s ability to enact local laws and policies promptly. Statehood would provide D.C. with greater autonomy over its affairs, allowing locally-elected officials to make decisions that directly address the needs of the community without external interference.
Lack of Financial Control
Congressional control over D.C.'s budget leads to inefficiencies and delays in funding crucial services. Statehood would give D.C. the authority to manage its finances independently, ensuring that resources are allocated efficiently and effectively to meet the needs of residents in a timely manner.
Equality and Civil Rights
The lack of statehood perpetuates unequal treatment and undermines the civil rights of D.C. residents. Statehood is essential to rectify this injustice, affirming the principles of democracy and ensuring that all Washingtonians enjoy the same rights and opportunities as citizens of other states.
